Browser Market Share as of March 2011

Google Chrome

Google’s Chrome browser is reaching 10.9% of the browser market according to Net Applications, whilst Mozilla Firefox has fallen to 21.7% percent.  Microsoft Internet Explorer maintains a 56.8% lead.

Microsoft noted in a blog post that Internet Explorer 9, the company’s latest browser iteration, reached 0.66 percent market share across all Windows operating systems, with over 2 percent share on the Windows 7 platform.  They also reported that the browser has been downloaded more than 36 million times since its September 2010 launch.

Apple’s Safari market share also grew slightly from 6 to 6.4%.  Opera is still hovering around the 2.1% mark.
